Skyros' cuisine is based mainly on the products of stock-rearing. Lamb and goat meat, from freely grazing stock, uniquely cooked will impress you.  Apart from the delicious meats of Skyros there is also a rich variety of sea food that comes to your dish straight form the sea.
 
Various cheeses and dairy products with exquisite taste become the material for original, gustatory and unique dishes. Traditional dishes and recipes based on frumenty, pies with organic local sour goat's cheese reveal a deep cultural attachment to the art of cooking and serving. Sea food served on the island is fresh and cheap, with plenty of lobster in this category. In fact, pasta with lobster is one of Skyros' most famous dishes, one that has been popular and can be found anywhere. Skyros is a small island, but it carries a grand reputation when it comes to taste. Many consider it a definite taste destination with some of the finest restaurants in the country.
